When Janet contacted me to do a brother and sister session, she told me that they grew up going to Sears every year to get portraits done.
I immediately started brainstorming how to convey the sibling relationship in a modern way that was fun and lighthearted.
We got some traditional portrait shots.
We goofed off and recreated some schoolkid poses.
And then, tomfoolery, followed by chatting and counting how many vintage cars their uncle has (8, including a Model A and a Model T!).
I don’t have a brother, but I can’t imagine that leaf fights, thumb and arm wrestling weren’t formative cornerstones of every sibling relationship.

Merryn turned one year old in January, but a string of viruses and bad weather conspired to push her birthday portrait session back to March.
It was all for the best, though. Her little personality just bubbled and shined from the moment she saw me to the last click of the shutter. Such an adorable little ham!

I met up with Meg and Bobby 8 months after their Social Circle, Georgia wedding to shoot some bride and groom portraits. She wanted a few more photos in her dress, and some more pictures when it wasn’t a billion degrees outside and there wasn’t pressure and confusion to get to the next portion of the wedding day festivities.
I am a big fan of after-the-wedding sessions. Whether they’re taken a day after or a year after, why not wear that beloved dress one more time?
The funny and pleasant ladies who were sewing aprons in the club house when we went in to change clothes all expressed their approval that Meg still slid into her wedding dress perfectly even after 8 months of wedded bliss.
All photos shot at Habersham in Beaufort, South Carolina.

On Wednesdays, I work in the baby nursery during our church’s Mother’s Morning Out program. Every once in a while, when the sun cooperates and the mood strikes, I will bring my camera and get some candid portraits of all the adorable kiddos.
Here are a few from the past two Wednesdays.

Today one of my engagement sessions was featured on The Wedding Row.
I am excited and honored to be included with so many other tremendous behind-the-lens talents in Charleston.
If you’re not already checking out the Wedding Row blog, you should be! It’s the place for inspiration, ideas, and just seeing what all is out there. Charleston is so chock-full of creative talent, and it’s great to be able to browse through it in one place.
There are several images from Katie and Matt’s engagement session that I have not posted here yet, so take a look!
